Opening network data. For everyone.
The project
Open Source Networks opens up network infrastructure data — domain coverage, measurements and analysis — for public benefit. Everything published is derived from open sources. Technical data about internet-facing services and domains: no names of people, personal e-mail addresses, message content or tracking of people. IP addresses of internet-facing devices and the host names that point to them are shown as observed; operators can ask for removal or opt out at abuse@osn.lt.
The people
The project is created and maintained by Augustinas Košys. The infrastructure currently runs on Hetzner, OVH and our own data center and labs.
Independence
OSN started as a self-funded project, driven by genuine research interest and the conviction that core network data should be openly accessible rather than priced out of reach or closed behind enterprise platforms. To grow it, we welcome support from partners, sponsors and institutions who share that goal — the research stays independent.

Questions and answers
What is Open Source Networks (OSN)?
Open Source Networks (osn.lt) is an independent, non-commercial research project that makes network infrastructure data openly available: domain coverage, measurements of hosts on the public internet and vulnerability analysis.
Who runs OSN?
The project is created and maintained by Augustinas Košys.
Is OSN commercial?
No. OSN started as a self-funded project and stays non-commercial. Partners, sponsors and institutions who share the goal of open network data are welcome to support it; the research stays independent.
Where does OSN run?
The infrastructure currently runs on Hetzner, OVH and our own data center and labs.
How can I search the data?
The searchable dataset is at beta.osn.lt: look up an IP address, a domain or a CVE identifier to see open services, software and known vulnerabilities seen on the public internet.
How do I opt out or report a problem?
Operators can opt out of measurement at any time by writing to abuse@osn.lt. Security issues can be reported as described on the contact page and in security.txt.
